Messages From Our Ancestors

Guatemaya

Guatemala is situated in Central America and is renowned for its historical ancient temples, mystical blue mountains emerged within thick tropical jungles and volcanoes.

The population of Guatemala is mostly indigenous having derived from the ancient Mayan civilization. It extends throughout the Mesoamerica akin to the Americas and pre-Colombian times of ancient America. Pre-historic civilizations of this era was Olmec, Zapotec, Teotihuacan, Maya, Mixtec, Totonac, Aztec as well as others.

The Mayan Calendar

The Tikal is one of the largest archaeological ruins of the pre-Colombian Mayan civilization. Among the Mesoamerican culture was the Mayan calendar. The Mayan calendar was a complex field of knowledge based on the study of astronomy aka the observation of the stars and planets.

The calendar is a 26,000 year cycle that is observed and calculated with the markings of the sun, moon and Venus. There are 260 days in a calendar that reaches a full cycle. One year is 20 weeks with 13 days each in between that hold important reference towards each end of the 13 days.

The Mayans had use of several calendars however, each point to the date of December 21st, 2012. All calendars were observed by the time of all the planets movements as well as the rotation of the earth around the sun.

The different calendar systems of the Mayans were:

1. The Long count.

2. The Haab.

3. The Tzolkin.

The Tzolkin calendar is a short count which I referred to as above. The date marked to end for the Mayan calendar is on the 21st of December, 2012. There is much propaganda, doom and gloom surrounding the prophecies of the Mayan calendar. However, as we enter the Mayan shift - many are questioning the nature of our world and raise a prayer of hope for a "global unity" and a humane society at large.

Indigenous elders from all cultures are calling for a plea for humanity to gather together and embrace for a world of peace and union amongst all nations. Care for the environment is at a critical juncture and is vital for the survival of our planet earth.

Prayer of Unification -   The Guatemalan elders have a timely message to share with humanity.

Other Sources:

Due to the Spanish inquisition many hieroglyphic scrolls that contained secret esoteric knowledge was destroyed. The Modern Mayan culture of today does not resemble the ancient Mayan civilization. Ancient knowledge of the Mayans has been retained through the remains of temples that reveal hieroglyphic symbols and artifacts that archaeologists have studied over the many years, trying to piece together this lost and enigmatic ancient civilization.
