Black Swan Movie Review

I am not sure what to make of this bizarre mixture of horror, hot female rivalry and the strangely inviting seduction between two women.

It certainly portrays an aura of vulnerability and psychological instability regarding the main character's role; spiraling into a world of paranoia and psychotic breakdown, that fuels throughout the film with disturbing facets of mind games, hallucinations, including episodes of psycho-sexual behaviour.

None of the less trying to figure this perplexing dark psychological thriller will have you pierced with thorns. However, it did not leave me on the edge of my seat rather, it sailed me through the height of passion, soaring gracefully into a roaring crescendo of liberation and power! This was the finishing touch of the miraculous display of the breakthrough of the virginal white swan who metaphorically transforms into the beautiful and powerful black swan.

Nina the ballerina captures the moment of the film with a brilliant dance piece that wins her a well deserved Oscar.

I do recommend in seeing this film if you have a flair for the arts and dark twisted tales... This is an insane work of art set within horrific scenes amongst a dark encounter of a young woman's journey and awakening of her sexuality.

In Summary: Black Swan is: - "Dark, Powerful and Seductive."

Sprituality - Green living & Science enmeshed within today's society.

Morning to all, here today to discuss the growing evolution of 'spirituality' - be it science, health, green matters or just simple day to day facts; - the current population is becoming more spiritual and more green.

Why is this so? We have now reached a level of 'information made public' to most international Internet websites. What this correlates to is a "surf of news, education & human rights" among
our fellow brothers & sisters.

This is an amazing feature that combines the latest news and events from progressive news and independent outlets.

There is a growing mountain of information regarding the 'green economy' so check this out also...

I think, with all the technology from our modern sources: such as the Internet etc; we are able to make a difference in this world in the habit of uniting people from all over the globe to share in making this world a better place.

Making a difference in this world is a remarkable achievement.

Messages From Our Ancestors

Guatemaya

Guatemala is situated in Central America and is renowned for its historical ancient temples, mystical blue mountains emerged within thick tropical jungles and volcanoes.

The population of Guatemala is mostly indigenous having derived from the ancient Mayan civilization. It extends throughout the Mesoamerica akin to the Americas and pre-Colombian times of ancient America. Pre-historic civilizations of this era was Olmec, Zapotec, Teotihuacan, Maya, Mixtec, Totonac, Aztec as well as others.

The Mayan Calendar

The Tikal is one of the largest archaeological ruins of the pre-Colombian Mayan civilization. Among the Mesoamerican culture was the Mayan calendar. The Mayan calendar was a complex field of knowledge based on the study of astronomy aka the observation of the stars and planets.

The calendar is a 26,000 year cycle that is observed and calculated with the markings of the sun, moon and Venus. There are 260 days in a calendar that reaches a full cycle. One year is 20 weeks with 13 days each in between that hold important reference towards each end of the 13 days.

The Mayans had use of several calendars however, each point to the date of December 21st, 2012. All calendars were observed by the time of all the planets movements as well as the rotation of the earth around the sun.

The different calendar systems of the Mayans were:

1. The Long count.

2. The Haab.

3. The Tzolkin.

The Tzolkin calendar is a short count which I referred to as above. The date marked to end for the Mayan calendar is on the 21st of December, 2012. There is much propaganda, doom and gloom surrounding the prophecies of the Mayan calendar. However, as we enter the Mayan shift - many are questioning the nature of our world and raise a prayer of hope for a "global unity" and a humane society at large.

Indigenous elders from all cultures are calling for a plea for humanity to gather together and embrace for a world of peace and union amongst all nations. Care for the environment is at a critical juncture and is vital for the survival of our planet earth.

Prayer of Unification -   The Guatemalan elders have a timely message to share with humanity.

Other Sources:

Due to the Spanish inquisition many hieroglyphic scrolls that contained secret esoteric knowledge was destroyed. The Modern Mayan culture of today does not resemble the ancient Mayan civilization. Ancient knowledge of the Mayans has been retained through the remains of temples that reveal hieroglyphic symbols and artifacts that archaeologists have studied over the many years, trying to piece together this lost and enigmatic ancient civilization.

Children Of The Earth - Song/Video

Lyrics
We do not want the end of the world, let’s get together to go around, what we want is to be able to love again.
For all the children of the earth, a song like a prayer, and reunite for the love of humanity.
The stars shine in the sky, a blue planet in the universe, billions of years to become beautiful and sow life without border.
We do not want the end of the world, let’s get together to go around, what we want is to be able to love again.
For all the children of the earth, a song like a prayer, and reunite for the love of humanity.
Protect the oceans blue, clouds are made to be white, nature needs our hearts, so that dreams are written in color.
We do not want the end of the world, let’s get together to go around, what we want is to be able to love again.
For all the children of the earth, a song like a prayer, and reunite for the love of humanity.
Give hope and friendship, our history must continue.
We do not want the end of the world, let’s get together to go around, what we want is to be able to love again.
For all the children of the earth, a song like a prayer, and reunite for the love of humanity.

Self Esteem

Self-Esteem

What is the balance between low self-esteem and a normal healthy self-esteem? While it seems some people are overly confident it may be of benefit in reaching their goals and having the strength to take great strides in life; however, a person with low self-esteem is limited and in some cases thus becomes an "emotional cripple."

It is a fact that in childhood upbringing the accumulative experiences that are crucial towards a child's early development can be in some children's circumstances traumatising and can damage the individuals self-esteem throughout his/her entire life.

Is there any cure for low self-esteem? Does therapy really help? How hard is it to believe in yourself? A thoughtful and provoking idea that could perhaps provide an answer? In psychology the basic fundamental principle of self-esteem is the result of a  "balanced mind". Though what happens when we experience episodes of self-esteem be it high or low that is unbalanced?

What exactly is an exemplar of self-esteem? All our experiences throughout life become molded and shaped into the individuals that we become. It is difficult for people who have encountered an abusive upbringing or any abusive episodes that has occurred throughout the course of his/her life.

When dealing with victims of abuse is it possible to heal the psychological damage? Therapy in some cases is successful though it varies depending on the individual.

1. You need to be ready
2. You may need to explore in finding the right therapist
3. When you are willing to work on becoming whole progress has begun.

Types of therapy:

Counselling
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Psychotherapy
Group Therapy

Summary:

In more ways than one if you seek help you are on the road to self-improvement. This may seem to be a challenging task at first; though it is well worth the effort in the long-term in sustaining a happy and well-balanced sense of self.

Fast Walkers

Have you seen them walking down the street,
those fast walkers I'm sure you don't want to meet.

Those fast walkers are fast talkers,

and do things you won't want to see.

See them smile see them gleam,
see them scream.

See them play their fancies

for any fools dream.

Oh they're smart,

oh they're fast, oh they last.

Fast walkers will live anybody's dream.

Oh when the day comes into play,
fast walkers will take their prey.

Oh they're fast and they last,
fast walkers do know their task.

If you happen to come by a fast walker,
run, run with all your might,
for fast walkers will spin
their craft with a mask.

Do not be led if you were to come across
a so-called  trusted friend,

as they could also be
a fast walker!

Oh they're fast and they last
without a fast.

Fast walkers are a wicked man's dream...

Nocturnal Voice

The mystery of your voice haunts me
as it echoes through the empty silence.

Deep dark penetrating eyes that pierce the night,
with wings that quickly glide your presence,
shifting smoothly with each stride.

When I look into your eyes,
I see the wisdom and power
you possess.

Silent wings of the night,
voice that shadow's the moon light,
with eyes that see throughout the soul.

Nocturnal voice of the night,
guide me through until the
breaking of the dawn light.

A Darkened Night

The night was sticky and humid, it was close to 2-00am. The fan was droning in the background yet, I hardly felt any relief. That was the problem with the old flat the harsh sun had begun to rise upon the roof, and by late afternoon the temperature was scoring high that heated the apartment to an unbearable heat similar to an inferno.

Feeling oppressed by the hot humid weather I thought of going outside on the balcony to escape the balmy atmosphere of the small apartment. When suddenly a bright flashing light come flooding into my bedroom window. Blinded by the flash at first glance my eyes closed fast. While readjusting my eyes to look around the room, I was startled by a strange flickering glow.

Within the shadow of the glowing light was the silhouette of two strange figures walking towards me. The light dimmed and a voice echoed eerily inside my mind that was not in English. It was a language that I could not decipher.

A heaviness fell upon my mind that overpowered me in falling into a deep sleep. The next morning I awoke early with all the details of the night vividly projecting each scene throughout my mind like a movie. Feeling dazed I gazed at the balcony door and was further disturbed at the sight of it being wide open. Something I had always made sure of was to never leave the balcony door unlocked before going to sleep. Not being able to make sense of it all, the memories were left aside.

Several years later since this night, there are moments that I do question of what may of actually occurred. The vague dreams that leap forth of the flashing visions, odd voices and dark strange lurking shadows from long ago still haunt my mind.

Paedophilia Sweeping Through Our Catholic Churches

Numerous allegations regarding paedophilia in our Catholic Churches and institutions have become a rapid upsurge of outcry in our local communities.

When it comes to child sexual abuse pedophilia is of no exception amongst the Catholic priests in our religious institutions. However, it is of little wonder that the Catholic Church is now serving to cover up the allegations of ongoing cases that have been trialled and convicted over the years within the justice system.

The latest reports on all scandals are not relatively new, considering the data that has been recently collected pre-dates to over 50 years climbing toward the early part of the century. Common cases having come forward are ablaze with the uprising public demise of the Vatican and Roman Catholic Church.

It is a very controversial subject and one that will not turn away through a blind eye. Catholics are renowned for condemning homosexuality throughout history. The crimes committed by the Roman Catholic priests are 'homosexual' and is largely hypocritical due to the opposing nature of homosexuality amongst Christian faiths.

Justice needs to be accomplished and the need for child protection in Christian communities should be strictly addressed by our government and child care protection services.

Defrocked Priests

Despite the number of priests who have been defrocked in recent times there have been reports that not enough cases of catholic priests have been testified against child sexual abuse. Leading investigations from police and victims from church groups are pleading to have more cases trialled and defrocked.

Other cases of priests suspended were also found to have been identified working in new organizations for re-employment not long after trial. Communities outraged by the findings are calling authorities in order to debate the issue for further investigation.

What is the outcome?

After all the media attention that has notoriously flooded the nations the Vatican imposes more strict formalities in regard to police back ground checks on church employees and volunteers.

Others include:

More public awareness is needed to be announced to parents, schools and communities.

Retirement

Retirement and resignations were common amongst elderly priests who were living in retirement houses and were closely monitored.

Breaking the Silence

Victims of abuse were encouraged to come forward with reports of child-hood abuse and to seek counselling services.

STDs - Still An Epidemic In Our Modern Society

STDs a little knowledge...

STDs aka Sexually Transmitted Diseases as well as STIs- Sexually Transmitted Infections are a growing epidemic within our modern society. After having passed the decadent sexual revolution of the 60's and the AIDS epidemic STDs are back on the increase.

Why?

Ever since a 20 year decline in the HIV/aids pandemic, a number of STDs have increased. STIs are higher amongst the younger population more so than our older generations. However, it still currently remains high in some regions regarding women minorities particularly in African/American women. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders were also at risk.

A look at just why STDs are increasing in young adults, despite our STDs Medical Health Campaigns is controversial. A recent statistical view of the number of adolescents who have become sexually active has risen and would give rise world wise to the prevalence of STDs.

More reported cases of unsafe sex with multiple partners are at risk in the cause of spreading STDs. While alcohol and drug use among young adults including college students were found to be another leading factor.

Social issues such as substance abuse and mental health had an impact on long-term safe sex as well as poor education in Sexual Health. In a recent study from WHO (World Health Organisation) health experts warn of the resistance to old antibiotic treatments that are no longer effective in the treatment of gonorrhoea. Further new treatments will need to be updated.

Types of STDs on the increase:

AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome)

HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) In 2009 alone more than a quarter of cases who were diagnosed and reported were heterosexual.

Chlamydia 80% of cases reported have quadrupled in the last 10 years.

Syphilis A high number of cases have been reported in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait communities.

Genital Herpes HSV-2 Is now a growing number of 66% of women aged between 15-26 years of age. Australia and the US have the highest percentage.

STDs and exposure to the HIV Virus:

Recent reports that were researched shows that STDs further increase the chances of contracting HIV through wounds and ulcers in the genital area. Other risks that were found to increase HIV, were high levels of CD4 cells. The more STDs a person is carrying, the greater the risk of transmission. A person infected with both STDs and HIV will transmit the HIV virus.

WAYS TO PREVENT STDS:

By raising AWARENESS through advertising campaigns such as your Medical Health Centre and/or Sexual Health Centre.

Practicing SAFE SEX through the use of condoms is important in preventing STDs and HIV.

VACCINATIONS:

There are vaccinations available for the herpes HSV-2 virus at your local GP centre.

Using safe measures when it comes to alcohol and drug use. Limit your use of alcohol.

SAFE NEEDLE EXCHANGE Be careful not to share your needles. Use clean fits. Hepatitis C and Hepatitis B is common among drug users and is highly contagious through unprotected sex.

Seek Drug and Alcohol Counselling.

Kakavia - Greek Fish Soup

Kakavia-Greek Fish Soup

Kakavia is a Greek fish soup also called Greek fisherman's Soup named after Kakavia. Kakavia, is a village in southern Albania. Fishermen in the village caught a variety of fish throughout the day and cooked fish soup as a popular meal served with crispy buttered bread. This fish soup recipe is named psarosoupa in Greek tradition and is similar to the French fish stew bouillabaisse.

What makes this delicate broth enticing is the curious excitement of the day's catch that is then prepared and added to make up a wonderful fresh fish soup. It is no wonder that it is a famous and traditional dish in Greek cuisine.

The mix of varied fish is stewed in a pot and simmered with added vegetables. Common vegetables used are potatoes, carrots, zucchini, tomatoes and celery. Add garlic, onions, salt, pepper and olive oil to taste.

Combined with seafood and fresh herbs such as thyme, fennel and parsley with a touch of lemon juice. The seafood can vary anywhere from prawns to mussels. Mussels must be cooked very gently in order to avoid overcooking.

There are many variations of fish soup recipes throughout other countries such as Italy, Spain and the Mediterranean, that are similar to Kakavia.

All of these variations of Kakavia are simple and fresh with a mild, subtle, seafood flavour that not only smells tempting, but is tantalising in taste that lingers throughout the course of the meal.
